Letter to Internal Revenue Service re: Overpayment Notice

A letter was received from Internal Revenue Service indicating a potential overpayment of federal tax deposits for tax period June 30, 2007. Grebert took the letter to Sidney Tax to check the records of payment. A letter was written to Internal Revenue Service indicating the figure IRS placed in “Total Tax on Return” column reflects the tax liability related to 1st Quarter ($3,713.48) not the tax liability related to 2nd Quarter ($4,128.66), which is the tax period of the report; therefore, showing no overpayment related to 2nd Quarter.
